AMI Montessori 6-12 Orientation Certificate
Course Description
The Association Montessori Internationale 6-12 Orientation Certificate course is designed to give an overview of the 6-12 child and a clear understanding of Montessori philosophy regarding children of this age. This course is suitable for any adult who wants to better understand the Montessori method for 6-12 year old children, including parents, grandparents and carers; teachers, student teachers, specialist teachers, classroom assistants and school administrators.

Course Requirements
- Students must be visible during all online sessions and actively engage in the sessions
- Students must sign a digital code of conduct before the course begins
- Students must be able to access and read the course reading selections – trainer to provide list only; students required to access the books independently

- No prerequisites for applicants who wish to enrol into the AMI 6-12 Orientation Certificate course.

- When we have processed your application you will receive a welcome letter and invoice.
Qualification Authorising Body
Association Montessori Internationale
The Certificate is awarded by the Association Montessori Internationale and does not form part of the Australian Qualifications Framework.
AMI is a worldwide leader in Montessori education. Its certified training is acknowledged for its rigour and authenticity and the Certificate is internationally recognised.
The Certificate does not automatically qualify the holder to educate as a teacher’s aide or assistant in other educational settings. The state or country in which the Certificate holder wishes to work may have other requirements that must be fulfilled.

Course Outline and Completion Requirements
The AMI Montessori 6-12 Orientation Certificate is awarded to those who complete all the following requirements. You must;
- maintain a minimum 90% attendance (your camera must be on and you need to be visible to the instructor to qualify as being in attendance);
- complete nine (9) hours of observation of children aged 6 to 12 years;
- complete an observation report;
- complete three (3) short 500-word papers; and
- prepare handmade materials.
